Arequipa - Chivay
We depart from Arequipa around 4:00 a.m., aiming to reach Chivay by approximately 7:00 a.m. This early start is essential to give us the best chance of spotting the Condors. Later in the morning, we’ll enjoy a continental breakfast in Chivay before boarding a bus to the “Cruz del Condor” viewpoint. Here, you can relish in awe-inspiring views of Colca Canyon, while hoping to witness the impressive Andean Condors soaring above the abyss. After this thrilling encounter, we descend into the canyon, visiting charming villages along the way. We’ll have lunch in the village of Tapay, where we’ll also relax in the afternoon, have dinner, and spend the night.
Tapay - Malata
An early breakfast awaits us before our departure from Tapay at 6:00 a.m. This morning, we head to a beautiful Oasis in the valley, visiting the villages of Cosñihua and Malata along the way. We’ll learn about the unique flora and fauna of this natural area. At the Oasis, we’ll have lunch, take a refreshing dip in the pool, enjoy dinner, and spend the night.
Cosñihua - Chivay
An even earlier breakfast awaits at sunrise, around 4:00 a.m. We ascend to the village of Cabanaconde and return to our starting point along the same path. We’ll have lunch in Chivay before embarking on our journey back to Arequipa. Along the way, we’ll make a stop at an Andean viewpoint, the highest point in the region at 4,910 meters, before arriving in Arequipa around 5:00 p.m.
