Cusco – Machu Picchu

Your journey to Machu Picchu begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco at approximately 03:40 AM. From there, we will embark on a scenic drive to the train station located in the charming town of Ollantaytambo, which will take around 2 hours.

Once at the train station, we will board the train bound for Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Enjoy the breathtaking views during the nearly 2-hour train ride, immersing yourself in the stunning landscapes of the Andes.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, a knowledgeable guide will be waiting to accompany you to the buses that will transport you to Machu Picchu. The bus ride to the citadel takes approximately 30 minutes, winding through the picturesque mountainous terrain.

Once you step foot in the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu, your guide will lead you on a comprehensive tour that lasts around 2 hours. Explore the iconic sites such as Intihuatana, The Sacred Plaza, The Temple of the Sun, and The Temple of the Condor, while learning fascinating details about the history and significance of this architectural marvel.

After the guided tour, you will have free time to further discover and immerse yourself in the wonders of Machu Picchu at your own pace. It’s important to note that you must exit the citadel by noon to ensure a smooth return journey.

To return to Aguas Calientes, you will take a bus down the mountain, giving you another opportunity to soak in the breathtaking surroundings. In Aguas Calientes, you can explore the town, indulge in the thermal baths, or visit the Manuel Chávez Ballón Museum (optional activities not included in the tour price).

Your return train departs from Aguas Calientes at 04:22 PM, so make sure to be at the train station at least 30 minutes before departure. The train will arrive at Ollantaytambo at approximately 06:10 PM. From there, our company’s transportation will be waiting to take you back to Cusco, a journey of about 2 hours. You will be dropped off at the Plaza San Francisco, located in the historic city center.

Please note that it is advisable to book a hotel in the historical city center for pickup convenience. If you are staying at an Airbnb or a location outside the city center, alternative arrangements can be made for a specific meeting point.
