The Sacred Valley of the Incas was undoubtedly a key settlement area for the Incas, and it also served as a buffer zone, protecting Cusco from the incursions of the Antis, the fierce tribes from the jungle who occasionally attacked the highlands. Today, the Sacred Valley remains a lush agricultural region that supplies Cusco with much of its produce such as corn, fruits, and vegetables.

Cusco - Sacred Valley - Cusco

Our deluxe transportation will pick you up from the lobby of your hotel between 06:30 AM – 06:55 AM. Buckle up as we embark on an extraordinary journey through the enchanting Sacred Valley. Our first stop is the charming town of Chinchero, where you can indulge in some retail therapy and explore a colonial church. We then continue our adventure to the remarkable archaeological site of Moray. During the scenic 40-minute drive, feast your eyes upon vast fields of golden wheat, picturesque villages, and the majestic snow-capped peaks of the Andes. Moray features a collection of circular terraces in varying sizes, believed to have served as an agricultural experimental center during the Inca era. Here, they conducted groundbreaking studies on plant adaptation to different ecosystems. Marvel at the sheer depth of these terraces, reaching up to an impressive 150 meters. Once we’ve soaked in the wonders of Moray, our journey takes us to the iconic Maras salt mines, just 4 kilometers away. This ancient village has long been renowned for its salt production and is said to have existed even before the Inca civilization. Witness over 3,000 salt pools, nestled harmoniously on the mountainside, each filled with naturally salty water on a daily basis. Our adventure continues to the town of Urubamba, where we’ll savor a delectable Andean buffet lunch at a local restaurant. With our appetites satisfied, we follow the course of the Urubamba River until we reach the captivating city of Ollantaytambo. Prepare to be awestruck as we explore the ruins and fortress of this Inca gem, constructed during the empire’s golden age. Our deluxe transportation then carries us to the renowned Pisac ruins, where we’ll delve into fascinating insights about Inca culture. Admire the masterful stone structures and breathtaking agricultural terraces. After our exploration of Pisac, we return to the town itself to browse through a vibrant artisan market. Take your time strolling through the colorful stalls, hunting for unique souvenirs to commemorate your journey. As the day draws to a close, we make our way back to the captivating city of Cusco, where we are expected to arrive at approximately 07:00 PM.
